ANKH

Taking into consideration Egyptian mythology it is possible to assume that the symbol “ANKH” (the bow of life, the knot of life, the key of life) indicates Leonardo da Vinci’s immortality.

The funeral portrait of Leonardo is of special interest. A balance of male and female symbols in this image accounts for the changes in Leonardo’s appearance after his death. It is effectively a self-portrait of “the immortal Leonardo da Vinci”.

Anch

A mystical image of Leonardo da Vinci is depicted in the funeral portrait which is designed for the protection of his grave.

A posthumous portrait of Leonardo da Vinci's mother

The posthumous portrait was created in order to capture the appearance of Leonardo da Vinci's mother at the time of her burial. It is possible that Leonardo embalmed his mother's body.
